As stated above, I debated and researched to the best of my abilities, then tried to further my insight through whatever ideas GPT could come up with. And it has helped me many times upon such things in the past. And TBC-- all I did was share a link, for those curious, not directly sharing an “AI slop” itself.

Actually, if you’d like, I could make a real effort to post more AI slop in these kinds of threads. Sound good?

ChatGPT is a text generator, not a knowledge engine.

If you understand the fundamentals of LLM’s, then you would know that both things are true. The extensive data-training very much does make them a form of knowledge engine.

I did try researching it, wise guy, but it’s way out of my wheelhouse, and I wound up with more questions than answers in the end. Hence, trying out GPT on the issue.

And from my understanding, most of the “energy and water” is used on the training process, not the end-stage user queries.

In this case I still have a lot of doubts, and decided to wisely / foolishly ask GPT5.4 for their opinion:

I’m going to lightly assume that such cross-connection is one of those things that can accidentally create slight Fediverse hiccups, as (far as I can tell) one can’t directly choose that little symbol as a reaction via the standard FV interface.

Apropos, I’m reading “Sapiens” right now, and it’s been quite the mind-fuck to me. Currently I’m struggling with the fact that we were essentially hunters & gatherers for millions of years before 12Kyrs ago we started hacking, manipulating and fucking with reality in order to completely transform ourselves in to agricultural-based societies, and the ultimate negatives of doing such are… almost mind-reeling.

In short, I’m re-thinking a lot of things the past few days, and it certainly helps put modern humans’ chronic and shameless cruelty upon each other in slightly different lights.
