I actually have a great relationship with my family, and I go visit them at least once a year, they beg me to come back and will even bar relatives I hate from being in the situation because otherwise they know they will never see me again. You should try that. If it doesn’t work, they probably just don’t like you. People I haven’t spoken to for years are still talking about things I said offhand I don’t even remember, saying “he’s so funny where is he??”. Thing is those people remember me being a lib ass and I would probably taser my past self to death for fun if I met him, so they can go fuck themselves.
