The advice is sound I suppose (I’d prefer Rust over Go in the backend though) but the whole thing reads like AI wrote it.

Doesn’t lots of package managers have the exact same problems?

The whole prompt is kind of hilarious. It’s like some sort of strange pep talk.
I got one, just keep spamming continue, it will eventually go through!
Have these people actually ever compared the anonymous internet with the named internet? Facebook is flooded with bigots and idiots that readily spout racist and hateful words, with their full name in plain sight. Meanwhile, anonymous places like Reddit are far better moderated (yes, I know we hate on reddit here but it is much better moderated than Facebook). Same applies to most of the fediverse.
I suspect these people haven’t actually used these anonymous places on the internet much. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

… until now.

Because any normal person would want it upper cased. Most people never type these folder names.
Yes, Linux should appeal to the masses, otherwise we will never get rid of Windows. No, this doesn’t apply to anyone on Lemmy cause nobody on Lemmy right now truly qualify as “normal person”, statistically speaking.

Interesting analogy. The future is hard to predict. Hopefully things turn out better than this prediction.

With Linux, I can change just about everything. If I want a real-time kernel, I can switch. If I want a different desktop environment, change. If I want more control from my keyboard, Linux has my back.
As much as I agree with the sentiment of the article, this is a terrible reason and more likely to scare people away from Linux rather than get them to install it.
If you know what a “real-time kernel” is, you’re probably already using Linux and you are a highly technically literate user. Any “normal person” user is going to look at that and think “Oh, I guess I need to understand technobabble in order to use Linux”. Normal users care about easy, preset defaults, not customization.
Once again, Linux adoption is kneecapped by its own users, who forget what normal people really care about.

If a ban is justified, then there is (pretty much by definition) no power tripping, right? So I feel like it definitely makes sense for this community to downvote if the ban is justified.
I’m out of the loop, why are people hating on crunchyroll?
