  • One night I had the weird headache out of nowhere. Still don’t know what it was or where it came from. No idea why, but I ended up on the couch just thinking “everything is bad, I’m bad, why even bother, I fucking suck at everything, etc.”

I’m pretty good at separating myself from my own thoughts, especially when things get out of hand, so I knew to just sit and let it blow over. This was very, very good because in that moment I caught a glimpse of where someone might be if they were thinking of commiting suicide. It was such a strong force of self-hate and hopelessness all I could really do was lie there and hope it would pass.

Had a normal day after that, but holy hell. There’s not a lot of logic to it, the best you can really do is be kind to people and pray they see the lighthouse in the storm.

  • Yea, because there are important differences. For one, “AI” versus a complex algorithm for figuring out some stuff is similar, but not the same. People asking generic LLMs to do stuff and getting 70-90% of a result is not a useful thing. People getting actively dumber because they won’t spend time thinking for themselves is not a useful thing. People believing billionaires who say that productivity will be increased and so we’ll be more free for other things are stupid as hell.

We aren’t really getting for all this “AI”. It’s like in the text above, the problem isn’t lasers but Death Stars. I think “AI” is stupid as all hell but you show me a purpose-built algorithm that can actually do its fucking job then sure, all good with me!

Being incredibly close, genetically, probably helps a lot. Cancer is just ones own cells that turn into a parasitic mass BUT there’s entire dog STI that’s actually a thousands of years old boneless dog(the dog’s cancer cells) which was likely originally spread through a bunch of domesticated, inbred dogs.

So his immune system’s like “eh, close enough”.

  • The government is the union, at a base level, and then you go from there. If your government offers nothing then even a union will only bring you up so much. Both are good even without the other, but the government actually working for the people and making hard laws is the best option if you had to pick. It’s also much more difficult to do considering most people are dumb as hell, so unions help give them a more local opportunity to understand that working together is a good idea.

  • “All your skills and memories” includes such hits as knowing when to get into Bitcoin, knowing what career would take off and know when to get out if need be. It would be going to back and meeting the right people at the right time. Practically speaking, you would have all the answers.

You got a lot o’ them big book-words for someone what ain’t quite gettin’ their grippers ‘round them com-plex ideers. This isn’t that complicated, you’re just embarrassed, maybe quit before you get even further behind.

Again though, he cut programs that were in motion so as far as we know stuff could have been decently close and is gone now. Also important is the fact that he’s literally a guy who constantly talks and act like prescription drugs are evil and yet is using China having more of them as a good thing for them and a bad thing for his country.

  • Ones on roofs are easy, a panel can’t weigh more than a car so you lose a few parking spaces on the roof level and bob’s your uncle. The goal is to reduce car usage so it’s fine. And existing ones are too far away to provide electricity? What? They’re literally beside stores which consume power! Yea I don’t like that answer, it’s dumb as hell.

The pumping idea sounds cool, though, and I’m not against it, but dude I’m so tired of “what if we do nothing because we can’t understand the concept of having multiple solutions going at once?”

  • Life is stranger than fiction. We’ve all experienced moments in real life that would be considered bad, cheesy writing if we wrote them ourselves.

As far as “only effective over longer distances” is concerned, that’s just not a thing. Like, sure, I wouldn’t bring a hunting/sniper rifle to a close-quarters situation, and it would mean the overall setup would be pretty ineffective, but the weapon itself does not have an “effective minimum distance”.
