It’s a very responsible thing to do to readjust to the time zone, can’t argue with that. 😁
Ask me food safety and food science questions.
What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
The goal this year (2026) is to lurk less and post and comment more.

You’d think so, but I did remember a lot of the books I read! I was just able to hyperfocus and be sucked in so intensely that I felt I was there.
Nowadays, I read maybe only a few chapters, depending on how long each chapter is and how in to it I am, until I’m having to reread sentences.
I think after 22h of travelling, anyone would have a little trouble taking in words on the first read.

I used to be even worse than I am now. When I was younger with fewer responsibilities, I’d finish a book in a night or two, and I’d somehow be able to function at work with no sleep. Now, I lose an hour and I’m a zombie 🥲 but… I still can’t stop. 😂
Edit: I mean can’t stop losing the hour. I at least don’t stay up too far past midnight now!

Reading a really good book.

I just got back from the most amazing Ireland/Malaysia trip. Family wedding in Ireland, and getting to travel and eat with a friend I hadn’t seen in 12 years. I had the best Nasi Lemak I’ve ever had.
The only downside is that I have a mild case of food poisoning, but it’s also the upside, too - it’s only mild, and I only got symptoms when I got home, so no being sick on the plane. 🥳

I just finished a 6km hike after being sick for over a month. Felt really good, no symptoms of the cold. No anxiety, no asthma. I’m officially back to normal. 🥳
I made a bread loaf that turned out aesthetically way better than I expected. Haven’t cut in to it yet, but I will shortly. Can’t resist fresh bread.
