  • This might eat into your weekend but, if you have a stronger PC somewhere at home, you should def consider streaming games from it instead of getting capped into 30fps. Just try Steam Remote Play (recently updated, no setup) or try Sunshine (or one of the forks, Vibeshine / Vibepollo / Moonshine / Polaris) & Moonlight.



  • What’s happening with Remote Play lately is good and nice but without headless/virtual display option on the server side, it doesn’t make much sense.

    On both Linux and Windows, you can’t capture full range HDR without your physical display also supports it. 99% of the gaming monitors only goes up to 400 nits, whereas the Deck offers 1000 nits and, if you use the Deck as the middleman, TVs can go up to 2000.

    That being said, there are many Sunshine forks that goes around those (and many more) limitations by spawning a full fledged virtual display, and that’s the way it is.
