It’s something I oft see cited, but I can’t remember the last time I saw a reasonable example that wasn’t at least 5 years old.

Wasn’t that Amazon Prime?

I guess it must’ve gotten taken down.

Isekai allows amateur writers on Narou (the webnovel site most of these isekai originate from) to completely avoid worldbuilding or any need for original thought. So it ends up being a convenient thing to write, but for whatever reason people watch this slop. They adapted dozens of them into anime last year; hopefully we’ll be seeing that scale back in the future.

The link gives me a 404.

Right? Kinda feels like it’s a waaaay bigger impediment to his actual job.

At least in Yuru’s case it seemed like a plan that might have a chance of working. The problem was they tried to do it while his dad was there. TBF he grew up into a total badass so waiting too long would be a problem too, especially if his dad is accompanying him specifically in case the village tried something like this (he seemed to know what was up).
Come to think of it, maybe the parents are why they didn’t try the direct indoctrination approach. Maybe they knew it wouldn’t work if the parents were opposed (as most good parents would be).

Goon A: “If we kill her, she’ll get cool superpowers!”
Goon B: “Yeah!”
they kill Asa, who then kills them
surprised Pikachu face
Seriously, what was the plan here?

On the one hand, it’s incredibly well-made. On the other hand I’m not sure I ever want to watch that ever again.

I’m honestly thrilled by this news. If it means we’re getting less LN slop and more experimental stuff I’m all for it.

I like most of the performances in the dub but the narration style kills it for me.

Usually being able to get the story from both sides makes it a lot better for me. At the very least, it’s something my two favorite romance anime (Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku) both do. I think I’d probably like Blue Box a lot more if it did that.

As an RX 6800 owner I’m quite pleased with this news.

It’s honestly too difficult to resist just saying “anything with Takehito Koyasu in a major role”. Seriously, my mind can’t stray from his deep, hot guy voice.
edit: for dubs I’ve got to say Fullmetal Alchemist. Any time I hear the Japanese version I’m disappointed because the English performances, and especially those done for Major Armstrong and Colonel Mustang, are just too dang good.

In FMA:B it turns out the government is being run by a bunch of inhuman, genocidal monsters and a bunch of people band together and do something about it. So yeah, probably this one.
I haven’t seen anything in the news, but a large subset of anime fans won’t be pleased unless their anime is free and released with a quality English translation on day 1 and they never make any mistakes so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The fact that in reality they seem intent on slowly enshittifying their services does not help.

I think my favorite OP of the season has to be Akane-banashi’s. The song itself is good, but the visuals are basically perfect for the type of story they’re selling.

Looks sick; even with everything else going on I’m absolutely down.

Man, they really dropped something crazy right at the end there. Looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of what’s going on in the next episode though!
Have you seen Clevatess? It’s not quite the same, but it’s the closest I’ve seen recently.
