Mainly management issues. Time constraint. See, some games, like those successfull indie games, are passion projects. Often forged by one mind.
Big companies hire people for a project. You see an issue with gameplay? Too bad youre just the designer, no one wants to hear your opinion. You lose passion, if you had any to begin with. Then companies tend to see workers as slaves. Bend the knee or else. Id not go the extra mile for benefits barely matching the lawful minimum. The new avengers show will drop nxt year? Gotta ship a product which normally needs years of development. You cut features to meet deadlines. Sometimes this is also because management thinks only pressure makes people work at all.

4·3 days agoAfaik german court ruled being an afghan woman is sufficient for asylum. idk how the law is nowadays though. However i read “…and their family members” which might implicate they wanted to relocate whole families including men, all or nothing. Furthermore i guess you have to go some official way with most countries through embassies which didnt exist there? Portugal might just have been able to alter their law to accept zoom meetings as asylum application first.

11·6 days agoMakes you wonder why privacy was perfectly fine for decades, centuries, millenials even but after watergate and epstein its a problem for politicians all of a sudden. Also this goes against the democratic will. They say nothing about it and when voted to office BAM they shit on public will.

6·8 days agohot desks are normal in hybrid working. Id never swap coming in only once in 2 weeks for a perm desk. This is also the reason the company could never do RTO, they dont have the office space. If zuck wants employees to have fun again he should work on employer branding. Good pay, freebees left n right, access to high quality schooling, time to cool down between hot phases. Sprint after sprint without pause is just a marathon. Marathon without pause will be just a slow walk.

28·10 days agoWell this is my opinion. I am not aware of any statistics of scene changes or plot coherency but it felt very on the same level as PAW Patrol. Thing with brainrot is, you enjoy it in the moment but it alters cognitive processing. Famously, with quick context changes like tiktok or such kids shows it reduces attention span. Compare what bluey does to a childrens/picture book.

Europe@feddit.org•Germany news: Population shrinks for first time since 2020English
22·10 days agoThe common opinion amongst parents is, they dont know how they’d raise children without WFH. Its not that you spend your workhours doing childcare but saving 2-3 hours a day in traffic is golden. Otherwise the kindergarden would see the child more than us. Now with bad economy we have RTO trend. Wages not keeping up with inflation, job insecurity, grandparents working themselves until they are not fit enough to help out. It makes no sense for the middle to get children. Never made sense financially but also doesnt make sense emotionally to just yeet your offspring into childcare.
Plus the current chancellor/ruling parties cut parental support further while touting longer workdays. More children is simply NOT a goal of the german government.
