Europe@feddit.org•Discussion: Are the US trying to colonize Europe?English
10·13 days agoIMHO: the change has been neck-breakingly fast. It’s only a year since the annoying orange has taken power and the Europeans have realised that the structures with the Americans only take one malevolent cunt to damage the entire continent. Remember, before Trump, the EU was beyond friendly with the Americans. And in one year the MAGA cult and Trump completely destroyed more than 70 years of the transatlantic relationship. That’s an accomplishment, he managed to do something that no other European could for the past 70 years. And there’s no going back to the US dependence after this spectacular failure.

Linux@lemmy.ml•[solved] Does Linux have an equivalent to "Compress contents to save disk space" from Windows? I don't need it to save space, just please read the full post before commenting.
1·24 days agoThe fstab file is used to define how disk partitions or remote file systems are mounted into your computer. Removable drives such as USB drives or SD cards are not shown there, because if they were, your system would complain at boot that it can’t find the requested USB drive.
About F2FS having double the storage space of btrfs. In all honesty, it doesn’t make sense to me. Do you mean it shows you potentially being able to store 80 megabytes if you can get compression working or does it just show 80 megabytes instead of 40, after formatting the file system?

2·24 days agosudo nano /etc/fstab
Then replace “defaults” with “compress=zstd” on your desired partitions.
IMO stick with btrfs. Also, the storage space between file systems is exactly the same, given the same hardware.
