I remember watching a vampire show once, and the dude was turned into a vampire later in life, while he was unhappy with his body. I would much rather get turned into a vampire in my 20s than much later in life.

9·2 days agoI remember seeing an interview of Satya Nadella saying that he has thousands of GPUs he’s just sitting on, waiting to get enough power infrastructure to plug then in, so in short, they’re hoarding.
Also great for breaking up some ICE.

2·8 days agoI’m on grapheneos, when someone seems me a link, I long press until a context moment l menu pops up, then I share to summit. I don’t allow apps to auto-open other apps as its a privacy concern. App developers will use what apps you have available for handling links as a way to build a unique profile of their users.

71·9 days agoWhen sharing a link to a post from Voyager it sends you to a URL on their server.
As an example, sharing this post from Summit will go to https://sh.itjust.works/post/68040352, but sharing this post from Voyager will go to https://vger.to/sh.itjust.works/post/68040352, which is a private server where we don’t know what this person is doing with the data collected.

101·9 days agoI would advise against using Voyager since it tries to track link shares by first directing you to their website first. It made me uncomfortable so I switched to Summit. I had tried interstellar but wasn’t a fan of the layout or how they didn’t have the ability to handle going into cross-posted links on android at least. Also, had to use obtainium to install it. Summit on F-Droid supports the full fediverse. I had tried a fourth but can’t remember its name, I dropped it because it lacked support for piefeed.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•the best ad-free youtube client on appletv?English
2·10 days agoI used to use Yattee on my AppleTV awhile back, but it stopped working when all the invidious instances started to have to implement blockers for all the scrappers. I think if you really want to watch YouTube on your TV without ads that Linux will probably be your best bet. Alternatively, you can connect your laptop and use FreeTube via HDMI, I do that occasionally. i don’t know about those other apps.
If you’re really bent on getting an AppleTV and you live near an Apple store, you can buy one, try it out for a fee data and return it if it’s not to your liking. I believe that Apple has a 14 day return window, but double check just to make sure.

Opensource@programming.dev•Open Source as We Know It Is Dead
207·12 days agoOpen source needs a better license. Big corporations just take and take and rarely ever give anything back, it’s not sustainable.
It’s kind of sad that so many big studios have abandoned their proprietary engines to adopt unreal engine 5. What’s going to happen when Epic starts to turn the screws because they feel like they aren’t making enough money? All these big studios won’t have any staff left that knows how to build graphical engines. Honestly, at least it would make sense if they have up on their engines and started using Godot. At least they wouldn’t be bound to Epic’s bullshit.

I just picked up a used Pixel and I’ve has no issues with IronFox, my partner uses it too. Did you forget to install the adblocker? Maybe enough time has passed since you last used it and it’s gotten better since then?
I agrree, it would, but I doubt that will ever happen while Google pays them exorbitant amount of money to be the default web browser.

Like the girl in interview with a vampire, yeah that would also suck ass.
