Not to take away from your post but the trick to riding a bike is not to go slow. The faster you go the easier it is to balance.

Just like walking a tray of glasses, if you slow down (especially abruptly) the change in momentum can topple some, but keep moving and ‘she’ll be right’.

Really don’t understand why people are so happy letting llm do everything for them.

I get a kick out of figuring out how things work, be it my car, a podman container running under nixos or flashing a price of hardware to gain further control over it. An understanding of action and concequence really gets skipped entirely.

People from my work happily let llms throw code together without any understanding of the how’s and whys (I work in unrelated areas to programming / coding) and it just baffles me. Even one of my workplaces used a llm to make a Facebook ad, and so clearly it became an internal meme (and probably outside of work).

The Australian government is embracing llms and its baffling my mind as to why, ATO, ServiceNSW and probably another stack all gobble this shit up. Its in their training programs (images, text) and in your face while working. Actually absurd in my eyes.

I’ve had my current dishwasher for at least 15 years. Replaced a few grommets for the top spinning arm and its still chugging away like a champion.

The print on the front has been re written in perminant marker (so we know which blinding blue led corresponds to which mode) but honestly couldn’t ask for much more in an appliance.

From memory it was on special for maybe $200. Wife wants to replace it but I don’t have the heart to let it go just yet.

I’d thought my rack was a bit of a hog with a z390 9900k and erying es system, but checking my current usage it’s vibing at 180kwh~

At 9:20 pm my rack has set me back $0.80 for the day (excluding misc connection fees and so forth). Most of my daily use would be in heating / cooling with two split systems & the wife WFH.

Yeah I’m stuck between those two options however it’s for much later down the road in my case. House needs a renovation but finances don’t allow just yet.

I have a mix of TP Link wifi globes, IKEA ZigBee and Hue Zigbee throughout the house. Zigbee are controlled by a SLZB 06 and ZHA / MQTT. By far the Hue are the best I’ve tested and have been in service for around 10 years.
