26·23 days agoIt’s definitely not pangea. For one, South America and Africa are not connected (which is the one thing everyone knows about plate tectonics). However what initially jumped out to me was India and the Himalayas (which are a relatively recent geological event).

11·23 days agoGuardians, absolutely. First was brilliant, second starts to fall to Marvel tropes, and by the third I just couldn’t wait for it to be over.

7·23 days agoI thought 3 was a deal better than 2. 2 was generic Hollywood schlock that dragged in the middle; 3 at least attempted some interesting things, and even bordered on artsy at times.
1 was, of course, the best. Haven’t seen 4 and 5.

0·1 month agoCan anyone recommend a website/book with examples of the more wild classical Roman stories? It sounds like some of them were a hoot, but I’m not keen on digging through the boring “normal” stories to find them.
For the love of fuck, we’re using apostrophes to conjugate verbs now too?

1·1 month agoFrom a sociological perspective I am finding myself surprisingly uncomfortable with the use of “feticide” here over something more neutral, like “abortion rate.”
“Feticide” smacks of Christofascist (or equivalent) rhetoric.

Also the prep time. It’s like these people are all buying their ingredients pre-washed and sliced.
