Privacy@lemmy.ml•A lot of people use uBlock Origin. Does any of you use uMatrix?
9·10 hours agoi use numatrix, it’s a fork of nutensor whichbwas a fork of umatrix. it’s regularly updated and available on firefox AMO
unlike nutensor/umatrix or even ublock origin it even has keyboard shortcut feature, so paired with vimfx i almost never have to touch the mouse

1·1 day agoi see. btw, if you’re running win10/win11 they natively support nfs mounting. might be worth trying if you can’t solve this issue with smb.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why are there advertisements on Boost (a Lemmy app)?
1·4 days agoinstall adaway on your phone. it runs better with root but still works fine without. there’s no reason to see ads on a phone you own.
with that gpu, x11 might work better than wayland. i’ll probably get downvoted for this but keeping macos isn’t a bad choice, there’s a firefox fork that tracks latest while retaining older macos support.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Fauxx Data poisoning for your everyday tracking
8·4 days agoit’s a difference approach, OP maximizes the data being harvested to make it harder to tell what the real usage data is, turning off javascript minimizes the data being collected but potentially makes you unique and stand out among other vanilla users

Linux@programming.dev•Why aren't more people using Codeberg or something open source
6·6 days agoto me cloning from codeberg is much slower than github and sometimes even fails. i understand it’s not possible to have m$ scale server geo balancing and stuff from a nonprofit but yeah. i do try to use it more these days tho.
im using disroot mail as my primary mail since 2021, it’s quite reliable and the community seem friendly
