Gaming@lemmy.zip•[Eurogamer] Final Fantasy Resonance reviewEnglish
3·19 days agoWhat im hearing is the story is to predictable. I understand this is a smaller final fantasy project, but Im here for a good story. If they are going to use a simpler graphical format which comes with a smaller budget, that feels like a opportunity to do some crazy things with the story. Sometimes it feels like high fidelity graphics can actually be constricting since the more outside the box your ideas are, the more money its go to take to pull off your vision. Using their HD-2D engine feels like a cheaper route to give us grandiose storytelling without breaking the bank.

Gaming@lemmy.zip•"We vibe coded a new Epic Games Launcher" because "programming is hard", announce company we're somehow supposed to see as a serious Steam competitorEnglish
26·25 days agoIt really is hard to get behind epic at all. People say “it’s just another software launcher, stop being a steam snob”
Ive never liked their work ethics and I don’t want support a company that makes fortnite anyway.
Me and my buddy were recently talking about why conservatives are always voting against theirs best interests and we kept circling back to the same old responses we’ve heard for years. It just wasn’t satisfying.
We started pivoting our discussion. As dumb as they are politically, we are still neighbors. We all are struggling to get by and live happy lives. So why do they feel so strongly about limited government and deregulation? Don’t they see that these things are hurting them just as much as it does everyone else?
And then we thought, what if they know all this deregulation and limited government do not help them out. In a country that rewards hyper individualism, conservatives see social safety nets as a way to let anyone get ahead.
Even ahead of themselves.
Someone else could become a billionaire if they can be lifted up by social welfare. These people idolized the ultra wealthy, want to be just like them and be rich too. If we help lift up everyone, that means their neighbors are just as close to reaching that dream as the themselves. And that just can’t be allow.
In our US culture, it’s all about getting to top and winning. Socialism isn’t winning it’s always a tie.
As much as laws and amendments can force change, I will always believe that we need to shift how our culture thinks about our neighbors. We need to relearn empathy in this country and when we stop worrying about “me me me”, everyone will actually start agreeing that socialism deserves a seat at the table.
its pretty common is highly dense cities, Chicago, NY and LA. I wouldn’t be surprised if Toronto has it in certain areas. But i can’t say for sure since ive never been and you northern neighbors are much more pleasant than a lot of US folks haha
Before I answer what country your from? I’m from the Chicago region.
In all honesty, I really hope they do have a car horn fetish. Car rides in major cities must be orgasmic.
I’m not a real fan of survival craft games usually.
But I absolutely love this one.
Something about the way Iron Gate presents this world makes me love it so much and still look past all the classic upkeep loops that I usually try to avoid in my games. Love the art style and moody biomes. But Mistlands is so damn cool. Id say it’s one the most novel biomes I’ve see a developer created for their game world

23·1 month agoI know that everyone is wary of David Ellison having control of Paramount IPs because he’s a son to a Trump supporter, but we need to remember that money talks more than trying to fling propaganda. Don’t forget that David has also donated to leftist polticitians anyway. Trek viewers range from socially progressive to moderates. If they started making trek a conservative propaganda machine, it would alienate viewers and their investments would lose them money. And we know how much investors hate losing money. Plus the new movie won’t be out until after Trump is out of office. Nothing to apease, just to make money.
