I imagine that once upon a time a mountain lion casually strolled into some ancient family’s hut on a cold winter night and settled down in front of their fire and the entire family was too terrified to shoo it out. After spending the night enjoying the warmth, it probably left on its own and then came back the next night to keep warm, basking happily in front of the flames while the poor family spent yet another sleepless night huddled in fear in a corner, waiting to be mauled to death but too afraid to attack the cat. Eventually someone probably gave it some food and then maybe a child got brave and gave it some ear scritches and it realized that why should it go live a harsh life in the wilderness when it can rule the home and be treated like a god? It then went out and brought back the rest of its family or tribe and that’s how cats became “domesticated”

Idk, I had a rental with a lane departure and it almost made me crash. I was on the highway, turned my turn signal on to indicate I wanted to change lanes, waited a second or two, began turning into the other lane to make the change, and the fucking thing activated and forcefully slammed me back into the lane I had been in, despite the fact that my turn signal was on and no other cars were close to me. I almost lost control and immediately disabled it and left it disabled.

3·18 days agoHell, I start saying this as soon as my alarm goes off in the morning.
I didn’t realize his birthday was coming up and when I started seeing his name all over the news headlines a couple days ago I had a minor heart attack because I thought he died.

3·24 days agoNow I’m hungry. Warm weather, swimming, and good food? Can I come pretend to be a long lost relative?
Enjoy your week!

Like anywhere from -15 to -4 C (around 5-25 F). I also keep it around 15 C (60 F) in my apartment to keep heating costs lower so it doesn’t need to get super warm to keep my thermostat from kicking on.
It goes down well below freezing here. My apartment is small.
I love firing up my PC and gaming on cold winter nights. A well placed fan or two and I can spread it through my entire apartment and the heat won’t kick on all night. Ends up saving me money, my heater costs way more than my PC to run.
I’m not familiar with In-N-Out, but I would honestly be ok with this if it meant that in 2016 they weren’t paying a living wage and now they are.
I know that’s probably just wishful thinking though.

1·4 months agoWhat drives me crazy is that even if you don’t install them yourself, you can’t opt out. I live in an apartment complex. I don’t have a doorbell camera, but I have to go past at least 2 of them every time I leave my home. It feels like an enormous violation of my privacy, especially knowing that some companies participate in facial recognition and tracking and freely share that information with the government. I want to complain to management but I know I’ll just be treated like the creepy neighborhood criminal.

Ah, I knew mountain lion wasn’t accurate, but my comment still stands with a sand cat or jungle cat. Not quite as intimidating, but I would still be a little afraid if a raccoon or a badger walked through my door and laid down on my hearth.
