JS is pretty easy to learn and there are SO many resources out there that will allow you pick it up easily so why not? Plus as someone who has been a web dev for decades now HTML, CSS, and JS are very valuable to learn. CSS especially as even many none web based stuff in the FOSS community utilize it for config customization. All of which is very easy to learn and then it opens you up for stuff outside of game dev like web development and webapp development.

well duh. You can test this yourself and even ALLOW the agent to access the internet. if you asks it to build something let it pick it’s own language. 9 times out of 10 it’s going to pick a language that tech bros and tech blogs have been raving about on linkedin and other sites. AND then it generally wont’ utilize the latest API or update to said language if no one has written about said latest API/update. months ago I tried this as a test. Claude selected Smithy and Rust I believe (can’t remember exactly) but the problem was it was utilizing an out of date Smithy version to try and get it to work with an up to date Rust version even though the latest Smithy was available it refused to utilize it. Why? well no one wrote about Smithy. So it would use the version it could find blog posts and articles written about it.
Now if you take internet access away from the agent, it’s not going to know what to use.
Rose probably got the idea from his friend Leo Laporte who has REALLY taken a massive swig of the AI Kool-Aid. it’s a real shame too cause I grew up watching both these guys on The Screen Savers and Call For Help. they pretty much taught me everything I know about computers. but man they went deep into AI/LLMs.

no. LLMs wouldn’t have done that for simply saying “I want a port of this fork for macos” they wouldn’t have changed the branding or anything. You would have to specifically put in the prompt how you would want a rebrand, specifically state HOW you wanted to rebrand it and where, etc.
The prompt was likely simply “make this work on macos” and that’s it.
nothing. the prompt to claude code was “I need this to work natively on macos” and then he just hit tab and walked out of the room.
really? I always assumed that was the norm for schools. I went to the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada and every year it was a massive thing getting internships and paid gigs with these places. It’s such an important thing we had an entire building on campus dedicated purely to it. for CS majors it was required for graduation.

I remember for my birthday one year I wanted the Sega CD Memory card/cartridge thing. It was literally just a memory card BUT I thought it was some magical tool, officially licensed/made by Sega mind you, where I could then go to blockbuster and rent games and it would then SAVE those games…in their entirety…to the memory cartridge. thus allowing me to have a bunch of games without paying full price for them. This is what I believed the thing did. that was my birthday present. a memory card.

Disney has over-saturated Star Wars. Star Wars used to be special. Like when the 97 Special Editions came out or the Shadows of The Empire cross media event or the Prequels or hell even the launch of new books with the Thrawn Trilogy was a big deal. It was special then. You had to wait years for something NEW for star wars and people loved that.
Now it’s a yearly thing or multiple times a year thing. it’s just not special anymore. The Mandalorian and Grogu movie is the FIRST Star Wars movie for me that I’m saying “meh, i’ll wait to see it” I’ve NEVER said that about a Star Wars movie, even the sequels.
