Well, we have used C/C++ in applications instead of higher-level languages. AI could atleast be used to port them, even to, say, a slightly higher-level language like Vala for GNOME apps. Automating the putting of lipstick on a pig and the fattening of pigs isn’t very useful if horses are the better choice.

You can’t call uncaring consumption or negligent cost-cutting measures geo-engineering. Geo-engineering is an expense, and whoever spends is looking at their returns, which is an incentive to do worse than uncaring consumption etc.

Just like Europe doesn’t have much choice in natural gas supply from Russia, India too doesn’t. The US has always propped up Pakistan, their misadventure in Afghanistan ended with pushing them into China’s arms which already has Pakistan, Myanmar etc. in its pocket, and Ukraine supplies Pakistan with modern weaponry.
