  • That’s my driving pattern too. Probably averaging <5mi since I don’t drive most days, but yeah, 30 is as far as I’m likely to go when not on a trip.

You might also want to check out the Telo truck. It’s a little more biased toward passenger space. It has 4 doors and a bed in the footprint of a Mini.

I wish the Telo was a bit more modular like the Slate design, with easily replaceable parts. And currently their rear glass is structural, so you can only remove the lower part of that rear partition when you put a shell over the bed, making it less like a normal SUV. I am also a bit more nervous about their viability/capitalization. Will they be around for a decade or more? Hope so, but not sure.

  • That’s about how I feel too. Worth considering. My hesitation was reinforced, perhaps unfairly, at a prototype/mockup event. It wasn’t very long ago, and prototype had a little too much slap-together feel. I know it was just a prototype, but I was hoping for something that looked a little closer to ‘ready for production’ if not exactly ‘finished’.

New factory, new build methodology, new employees. I’m going to need about a year of consumer feedback, personally. But I’m glad there are more intrepid souls ready to buy now.

  • What are you saving on that drive? Many data file formats already have compression of their own and don’t benefit much from file system compression. So if this is for media files, for example, it’s likely to add CPU overhead without a big benefit in transfer speed.

ZFS is not installed by default with most Linux distributions due to its license. It’s something you install after the os. Btrfs should work, but I see some discussion online of 128 or 256MB minimum volume size.

So, the same way European travelers think about cities rather than states? New York, Miami, San Francisco, LA, etc. Some of them might get to Las Vegas, Chicago, or Seattle. Of course, I mean back when they used to come here.

Exactly. And I’m with @[email protected], I think there is so much natural beauty in this country, it’s a shame to miss that.
Hoping for the days when it will be safe again for everyone.

  • US-ian here. Haven’t seen that quiz before. Scored 100% just now on US states and 100% on the European countries quiz. But I like geography and have traveled somewhat more than the OP map.

I feel like a lot of American travelers weirdly think more about going to Europe in terms of cities rather than countries. It’s expensive to go and they may only get one trip. So their friends tell them to go appreciate the biggest historic landmark, a church, a museum (top 3 artworks only), and a restaurant in Rome, then go to Paris and repeat, to London and repeat, maybe to Madrid or Barcelona and repeat. Adventurous ones visit Prague or Venice! Maybe spend 2 nights somewhere to really immerse themselves in the culture. Then they complain back home about how crowded and hectic Europe is and they never go back. It’s no wonder, they spent half their time in taxis, airports and discount airline flights.
