You are treating one side differently from the rest because one side is in a dramatically different situation to the other side and you are acting as if they are the same. Slaves and masters, oppressed and oppressor, treated with the “same” moral and ethical rigour despite one side actively trying to exploit the other.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•Birmingham council can't reach an agreement to govern. Reform and Labour refuse to work with each other. The Tories refuse to work with Greens. No one wants to work with Islamic independents
1·11 days agoThough both parties are reactionary, their understanding of the basis of political and economic power are completely opposed, with the workers party being opposed to allying with finance and big business capital, and Reform happily allying with those same powers.
Social policy is not the be-all-and-end-all of theories of change.

2·11 days agoCity councils have a lot of power with regards to local governance and procurement, which is targeted explicitly by the BDS campaign. More pro-gaza councillors = more people to vote on divestment from boycott targets.
The existence of inheritance makes people think of housing as a nest egg and investment vehicle, to be dispensed before or after death as a profit making instrument to their children. This is why large swathes of home-owners are interested in house prices always climbing, to the detriment of the non-homeowning portion of the working class.

World News@lemmy.ml•King Charles tells Britain to weather the cost of living crisis whilst wearing a hat worth 5 billion pounds.
6·14 days agoIt’s not about politeness, it’s that the crown have now firmly established themselves as part of the capitalist class, and expropriating them would be the same as expropriating any old capitalist. They have class solidarity and won’t allow that to happen baring outbreaks of war with foreign adversaries.

13·14 days agoThe DPRK is more democratic than the UK and you have no idea how its democratic and political system functions, and are invoking it as an anti-communist canard.
The UK is a democracy for the rich, where any wins that are forced out of them by the working class are slowly reversed back to the status quo.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•British newspapers antisemitic cartoons of Zack Polanski
5·20 days agoBy conflating anti-zionism with anti-semitism, the government runs cover for Israel and its genocidal war crimes. But at the same time, it and the media have no problem with the historic anti-semitism of depicting Jews as goblins with hooked noses and being the root of evil in the world, as long as they are the ones doing it.

In the Nietzsche sense and not a nazi sense is funny considering the nazis that heavily pulled from Nietzsche’s philosophical thought and the links his sister in particular had with the fascist movement in Germany.

reading the essay he wrote is eye-opening, or eye-watering. he’s a bloodthirsty ghoul by any measure, brushing off the genocide in palestine and the US’ war of aggression in Iran - if he were in power there’d probably be British boots on the ground in Iran.
e: we should also apparently learn from the fascists and libertarian wonks that have been elected “whether we like them or not”, but apparently there’s nothing to learn from China’s ascendancy. Learn from the fascists, begrudgingly work with the rising communist power - rhymes an awful lot with pre-ww2 rhetoric I reckon.
