The government has, TBF. The people can often be wholly against this and myriad other asshole tactics by their “elected” representatives. For the record.

“The assholes we elected to represent us do not represent us.” Or on the other hand, maybe they actually do.

No, they don’t. Considering 99.99% of them lie, cheat, and steal the whole damn time (and for multiple decades on their way into said role). Ya know, like appointing Supreme Court “judges” that do their bidding (eg. Bush Jr’s 2nd term) and all that.

No, there’ve been very few politicians that actually represent their constituency, and even the rare few that do, don’t tend to do so for nearly long enough.

They do not represent us, they simply shill for their handlers.

Trump made no secrets about what he planned on doing, and the only things he didn’t mention was the scope of what he was willing to do. One third of Americans voted for someone who said he would be a dictator for a day, and thought that was okay for their potential president to say and/or do. One third didn’t think that was a big enough of a deal to go out and vote against him, essentially saying they were okay with however the election turned out. This is just one example of the horrific statements that were made in public, on the record, that people didn’t think was enough to reject him as president. Sure, he lied, and I’m sure Harris did, too. But the truths were enough to damn him if Americans were willing to do so.

He is your president, chosen by the majority of Americans, by action or inaction.

I see it in what seemed like great USA coworkers, the propaganda makes them think EFF yeah America #1. There is sadly some truth to the stereotype of Americans being dumb. Its not that they aren’t intelligent, its that they are easily swayed by flags and fireworks.

They’ve been chronically undereducated for over 50 years. The cult of anti-intelectualism has formed a populace unequipped to deal with basic logic and empathy. And an uneducated populace is much easier to control and steal rights and labour from.

Governments in democratic countries are elected by the people and are a mirror of said country.

One third of the USA voted for him knowing he is fascist and cared only about hurting minorities. Another third said we are sitting this one out knowing he is a fascist.

So two thirds of three hundred million people voted for this outcome and you are here defending them.

      ASSHOLE.

I’m so sick of this stupid American cope.

Over 66% of Americans support the actions of this administration. 1/3 actively voted Republican, another 1/3 decided they didnt really care and were okay with it and decided not to vote, and another 1/3 may have voted democrat.

That 1/3 who are supposedly against this administration thinks that scheduling a biannual costume and funny sign parade is enough resistance and pat each other on the back online with bangers like “i didnt vote for him” and “the majority disapproves”.

You are all complicit and the world sees you that way. Go fix your fucking country or shut up.

What an American reply haha. It is not the responsibility of Canadians to “help” Americans right their wrongs. Its not the Europeans responsibility either. Y’all “dont need anything from anyone” so I’m not sure what the problem is?

I recall an old american adage: “Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps”. Perhaps practice what ya preach.

There is no “right country”. Thats some American exceptionalism right there.

You can insult me, call me asshole, and tell me to go to hell all you want if that makes you feel better. An attitude just like dear leader. I recall that his aptitude for personal insults and viewpoint that Americans are viciously taken advantage of by everyone else is partially why he is adored so much.

Correspondence with you has been exceptionally unpleasant. Hope you get up to something positive and productive besides calling people names online. Take care.

because they know that voting doesn’t really change anything

So with Kamala Harris as President the US would be in the same position right now?
