minus-squareartyom@piefed.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0arrow-down2·1 month agoThat’s not correct. Many batteries are cooled with refrigerant.
minus-squaredorkage@lemmy.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·1 month agoWho else is putting refrigerant directly into the battery? Every other battery teardown I have seen is coolant into the battery.
minus-squareartyom@piefed.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down2·1 month agoPretty much all of them? It’s called a battery chiller. Have yourself a web search.
minus-squaredorkage@lemmy.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·1 month agoThat is not using refrigerant in the battery directly. The coolant is chilled with the refrigerant external to the battery and then that chilled refrigerant is cycled through the battery. It is a much better design. Have yourself a web search.
