I couldn’t disagree more with this sentiment. I hate this doomer attitude. This sounds cliché but hope is really so powerful, and I truly believe they’re trying to take that away from us.
That said, I’m not stupid, I see the world and I know the potential for a lot of bad is on our horizon. And some, like climate change, is locked in. But the rest isn’t.
That doesn’t mean world war, or the collapse of society, and I’ll keep pushing back against that as long as I can. There’s a lot of bad but there’s still a lot of good.
This attitude feels like psyop shit to take our hope from us. Fuck that. I’m still dreaming of a good future, in whatever limited capacity that is. It’s never black and white, 100% one way. There’s still joy to be found and had and held, alongside the existing pain and fear.
Emphasis on psyop. If you are still in a democracy, even if it’s flawed, even if they are trying to cheat: Remember Orban. Remember Hungary. They did it! Your country can too. They want you without hope. Don’t lose it!
