    I’m so confused by these articles. They present the matter as a completely new problem, while it has been a known and slowly evolving situation since longer than I’ve been alive…

        Oh, I remember my grandparents going on about it! Doomsday scenarios of hunger because of exponential population growth versus linear agricultural growth!

    Last time there was a population crash (after the black death) we got workers rights.

    When there are fewer people the wealth of the nation is less but it’s split more fairly.

    All bets are off though if we get automated factories or AI that can work unsupervised.

    Oh, also we will end up elderly with too few young people to take care of is
