In theory, an all-powerful benevolent dictator could use that power to restructure everything before stepping down. Problem is, the sort of person who would become an all-powerful dictator is the sort of person least likely to benevolently give up power.
An-caps. All capitalist no anarchist. Yes, they think they exist, and they’re the only ones. Mention basic anarchist things like mutual aid etc to them. Anti state/authoritarianism, equality, community solidarity and on and on and on. And any illusion will be instantly shattered. At best they are anti state only when the state negatively impacts them. They are for individual freedom for themselves only. As soon as your freedom encroaches on their privilege, what individual freedom? They will froth at the mouth if you suggest equality or equity.
@PugJesus I’m an anarchist. And totalitarianism to anarchy is a pretty goddamned huge jump.

I’m all for handing one person all the power, as long as that person is me, because I don’t trust anyone to get it right.
Unfortunately it’s going to be REALLY hard to convince everyone else of this.
The last time I met a self-proclaimed anarchist in the wild, he was wearing a Trump shirt.
