    Woah I love so many of these. Give me your licorice, your onions, your cilantro and oysters, your cooked greens and water chestnuts. Lobster, crab, avocado, yum.

    Beets I don’t like but can imagine liking. Honeydew melon, ripe is heavenly but the underripe flavorless ones that are usually in fruit salad are absolute nonsense.

    The ones I have trouble believing anyone likes are natto and negroni. Natto I guess you have to grow up with and negroni hits me tooth shattering sweet, disgustingly sweet, so sweet and so bitter, but mostly just syrupy hypersweet.

      We are food buddies. Have you had shredded beets on a green salad with balsamic vinegar and goat cheese? Or shredded beet/carrot/ginger salad? I love beets.

      Natto be damned. Admittedly I’ve never tried it, but it LOOKS like I shouldn’t.

      I’ll add raw garlic to this game. Why would I ever? Sure it’s tasty for the first few minutes but it upsets my stomach immediately and aometimes causes the lymph nodes in my throat to ache. (Er, is that an allergy, or just the nature of raw garlic?)

      My only disagreement is that I’m okay with negronis. I wouldn’t choose one, but I sort if get it and the overwhelming bitterness is fun. I could do without the syrupyness.

        Beet relish with orange juice and vinegar, that is good.

        Raw garlic sliced very thin on sharp cheddar cheese is good. But don’t eat it if you are going out, unless you want to kill a vampire by breathing on them.

      The comment below is right about beats in a salad but I wouldn’t have gotten there if it weren’t for heavenly borscht, changed my mind about the root entirely.

      Negroni is one of my favorite cocktails, but it shouldn’t be all that sweet based on the standard recipe. I actually like it because it’s mostly just bitter and orange oil.
