Hate, fear, if either causes me to cross the street when walking past a black guy simply because I was robbed, my friend was robbed at gunpoint and pistol whipped, and my other friend was stabbed for 1oz of weed, by people who happened to be black, that’s racism. Even if having been attacked my fear is “legitimate,” the issue is treating every black man as if he’s going to stab me. Why then is it different to treat all men as if they’re going to rape you? In both cases you’re “just being cautious.”

Everyone deserves to be seen as an individual, but not by any random stranger.

Ok so it’s ok to generalize an entire demographic as long as you don’t know the individual, then you have to treat them as individuals? So like “women are bad drivers, except for my friend Edna she can drive like a boss” is perfectly ok? I’m gonna go with “nuh uh” on this one.

Furthermore most violence against women is committed by people they know, not random strangers. Treating random strangers as a monolith ain’t gonna help there.

Sure but the complaint isn’t “people ask me out here incorrectly” the complaint is typically “people ask me out here at all.” We’re supposed to relegate it only to spyware hook up apps and bars, third places are dying at an alarming rate, and if you don’t like it you’re an incel. This website is real anticapitalist until a guy complains about the commodification of finding love istfg.

Tomato tomato, the issue is generalizations, you just need to hang on to “it’s ok when fear does it” as a rationalization but can’t admit “and that includes those that fear black people” because you know that is wrong and then you’d have to admit it. Good. Be done.
