    I think you have this wrong. Not defending a rapist but I think what the article is trying to say is that the brewery needs to rebrand now that its owner went to jail, which IMO is definitely not the same thing as giving the dude himself a pass. I imagine it’s gonna close down regardless but the folks at the brewery who were almost certainly doing most of the actual work don’t deserve to lose their income just because the owner was a chode.

    I believe this is more an issue of class than gender. They’d be condemning him was he a homeless white/cis/guy.

        It reminds me of a time a pimento cheese maker made comments that seemed extremely racist and when the apology didn’t settle the consumers, they just changed the brand name and logo and the formerly outraged customer base who had every reason to stay offended happily went back to buying the product. The whole process only took a couple or three months, tops.
