One line tucked into a federal highway bill would strip funds from cities and states unless they kill their automated plate tracking programs—effectively banning the tech for all but toll collection.

      They call them ‘License plate trackers’ but they also look at faces.

          They also can identify and track vehicles based off things like bumper stickers, dents/damage. And identify people across different cameras by outfit, physical characteristics, and walking gait.
