No. This concept was first used in Italy over 40 years ago. They choose the appropriate trees.
Some trees only grow a few feet tall. I remember when I was a kid, my mother planted a few such small trees when we moved into a house with a yard.
Depends on what they are.
You can always prune them back too
Just imagining some high stress branch training and you got branches dangling 10 stories
