Supermarket chain Morrisons has introduced a new toilet rule, installing male sanitary bins in its customer bathrooms.

The new policy – again, designed to help men with incontinence or other health issues – has caused outrage among the anti-woke brigade, as you might have expected, despite the fact that nowhere in Morrisons’ statement did they mention trans people.

“Then that’s the last time I’ll shop at Morrisons utter woke nonsense,” one disgruntled user, who appeared to be a man based on his username, said on X.

Another person, despite no mention of periods, reacted with: “Jesus wept. Why? Men cannot get periods. Not even the ones pretending to be women. Stop it. Otherwise I feel a boycott is coming.”

Someone else said: “Quite ridiculous. Morrisons your virtue signalling waste of time and money is also an insult to women. Only women as defined in the Equalities Act can have periods. Women use women’s toilets. It’s that simple.”

The “anti-woke” crowd will find any excuse to hate and discriminate.

They didn’t even add them for the benefit of trans men - they explicitly said they are for men who use incontinence stuff and the like.

    Idiots misinterpret thing.

This isn’t news; it’s barely-disguised rage bait designed to make you angry.

… and now I’m angry about it, so I guess it works on multiple levels.

Aye it’s not the first time I’ve seen reverse ragebait from Pink News. They’re striving for clicks and views as much as the rest, just with a different angle.

People are losing their rights and you’re upset about ‘reverse ragebait’ or in other words showing how ridiculous the anti-trans crowd actually is.

Did you read the article? Do you understand how modern engagement and propaganda through anger works?

This news piece amplifies the voices of the bigots. Yes it may be in ridicule but it still allows their views to take up space in our limited attention. In fact, it may not even be amplifying real bigots views because it only quotes X which famously has a large amount of bot manufactured content.

This video explains why reverse ragebait does a cause a disservice and amplifies the opponent as much as it promotes your side.

Brexit is a perfect example, it was a niche view that David Cameron allowed a referendum on because he thought it would be beaten with ease. But suddenly it divides everyone and they must choose a stance. A near 50/50 split happened. Morrison’s have made the choice to install these bins, there’s no mention of them removing them, only what twats on X have said.

So yes, I’m upset at reverse ragebait because a news organisation should have a far better understanding of how journalism and propaganda are intertwined. How reporting on this story in this manner makes trans people less safe by broadcasting and therefore normalising intolerant views.

Strange that the people who are making such a fuss are probably from the Tena demographic.

Or perhaps they just like walking about with a damp yellow patch on their trousers.
