It took me about 15 seconds to find an uncensored version, and it has more pixels to boot. Fuck off with this this dumb censorship.

Sorry. Is that still a thing? I wanted to avoid imgur, but I’m just so damn used to it =/

Not to worry, I just get it with a VPN and repost, that’s how it is in the UK for now aha The ‘Protect Children From Predators and All Forms of Human Nudity by Banning Everyone From Everything and Get a Generous Dose of Biometric Data Harvesting Normalised Act’, or ‘OSA’, is still in effect

Huh. Here in Czech Republic we also enjoy hating on OSA, though in our case it’s something like “Author Protection Association”. Anti-piracy rather than internet blocking, but similar bullshit. We call it “osa zla”, which literally means “The Axis of Evil”.

There are alternative front ends you can use as well. Look in to LibRedirect.

Censoring expletives is dumb. But I don’t have a problem with hiding names of non-celebrities who aren’t spouting hate.

What was gained by censoring them? These are all public accounts, posting publicly on a public social network, what is the reason for censoring them?

The “wear a mask” in the subway’s username is a pretty obvious sign this was from pandemic days. I’m not sure what I gain by having more specific date information.

I believe OP was referring to the word “fuck”, which for some reason was censored in the original screenshot.

Yes, and the tweet can also be verified by searching its content, which will instantly lead to articles and uncensored names, completely nullifying the censoring.

It’s not about entitlement, it’s about decency. Knowing their usernames or identity contributes nothing here and nobody wants to be harassed when a screenshot of a conversation they casually participated in more than 5 years ago goes viral again for the umpteenth time. So the decent thing to do is to censor the usernames.
