You should just wait until at least the current heatwave is over. It won’t arrive before that happens anyway. Don’t support scalpers. Personally, I bought mine last winter for 700€ after seeing the same price gouging happen last summer as well.

I mean poorer areas won’t be able to afford ACs except the richer folks.

Additionally, hotter areas have dwellings that are made to combat heat. But in European areas, the dwellings were made with thick walls to keep heat in during the winter.

So now many walls have become heat saturated and it’s hard to cool them down.

This heat wave is 10-15 degrees warmer than average and quite quickly moved through the area.

Most people are thinking very short-sighted. They don’t anticipate their future needs and then get surprised. Then they try to buy something at the point in time where demand is the highest, thanks to all the other, equally short-sighted people.

Like buying an AC on the hottest day in summer. Or buying a warm jacket at the beginning of winter rather than at the end, when they will be heavily discounted.

Trying to buy an AC during the most intense heat wave in decades? Haha, good luck. Buy it during the winter when they are readily available.
