      Seems like LGBTQIA+ folks are more and more welcome in countries like China, at least in areas like Chengdu, than they have been in the past

        More than ever is still not a lot. While it’s moving in the right direction, there is still a large amount of cultural reactionary pushback.

          There was a time when China outpaced the US on LGBTQIA+ rights (China decriminalized being gay before the US and most other western nations did), but progress stalled and the US caught up and then overtook them with the legalization of gay marriage.
