It’s 6 extra cases in one year, that is a statistically insignificant number compared to the population of scooter users. I hate when people use percentages to mask small values, it’s like the old “Would you like to join our church? It’s the fastest growing church currently, we’ve tripled our numbers in the past 24 hours alone! (It was just me yesterday, and now my two flatmates joined me)”…
And now people will reply saying I don’t take kids accident seriously because I’m comparing them to fake churches…
Think about the children!
Germany has the same problem, too. Those eScooters are tricky to drive, esp. if you hit a pot hole. You’ll often see young people driving together on one scooter and there are also a lot of crashes with really young children, who are not allowed to drive them.
So yeah, there is a problem.
I never said they’re not dangerous, I never said kids should be allowed to ride them, I never said this is not something serious that needs to be looked into. I said that 6 extra cases in one year is statistically insignificant. It’s not an increase in cases from last year, even if it is a 50% larger number, because when you’re dealing with small numbers random happenstance can skew your data by quite a lot.
It is a silly comparison. Hurt Children have absolutely nothing to do with fake churches, only real churches.
