Kind of false kind of true, 100% overblown smear campaign. The donations came from people who are members of CAIR (center for American and Islamic relations). A group pegged as a terrorist organization in Florida, Texas, and the United Arab Emirates (which to me is a green flag in CAIR’s favor, lol)

They’ve vocally opposed Israel’s invasion and supported Hamas in defending Palestinians but have historically denounced Hamas terrorist actions.

So, yeah, they’re Hamas linked, but in a “they’re the people fighting Israeli occupation” kind of way.

Edit to add: as far as I can tell the donations were personal donations by people who happen to be members of CAIR, not from CAIR itself even. Making it even more overblown smear when compared to, say, 60 million straight from AIPAC that others had received

Hamas-linked suggests ties to Hamas, not mere support. I don’t think there’s anything to this. Moreover, who cares when Haley Stevens, Abdul’s opponent in the primary, is funded by an extraordinary amount of Zionist money? Surely the Zionist occupation that’s currently committing genocide is worse than a group violently resisting it.

Like I said, kinda false, kinda true, 100% smear.

I’d 100% have picked him in the primary and would vote for him in general election if I could

It’s not “kinda true”. It’s just outright false. If I support Hamas in the struggle against genocide that doesn’t mean I have links with Hamas. That’s not how this works.

Except it is kinda true, they do have documented links with Hamas. There’s a fair bit of evidence for it. It’s just they’d be crazy not to have links to at least discuss with or influence a major power in the area they’re from

It’s wild how Palestinians living in the West are somehow expected to have had absolutely zero contact in their life with the government of Gaza.

It’s also wild how Hamas is expected to disarm while the entity committing genocide isn’t. Blatant hypocrisy.

Alright, I stand corrected then. Not that I particularly care about electoralism anyway, but it’s always interesting to see how nakedly corrupt US elections are.
