I know it’s a bit late, but i have this screenshot from a Mastodon post that is funny.

He absolutely traumatized me in IT when I was 8 years old, lol. Was scared of clowns for over a decade, until my boyfriend made me watch IT with him in our dorm room in 2010. I immediately had my fear of clowns cured because Tim Curry’s Pennywise is absolutely hilarious.

He had one of the most fun and interesting acting careers. So many crazy movies. Always a joy. He’s missed and I hope he passed surrounded by loved ones<3
Ron Gilbert, what a legend. If you haven’t played Thimbleweed Park you’ve been missing out.
I didn’t know it was Tim Curry, but I’m pretty sure that his performance that I saw was in “Legend”. Then most likely IT.
I don’t didn’t I played enough Wing Commander III (also feat. Mark Hamill, John Davies Rhys and other known actors, absolutely stacked for its time) to have met the character that Tim Curry voiced there, but I for sure played enough Toonstruck to have heard his acting there! Also an amazing game which features Christopher Lloyd.Thimbleweed Park is good. I’m sure the sequel is going to be good, too.
Mr. Hector (the concierge) in Home Alone 2: Lost In New York (1992)
I still think of him as having a giant grinch grin
This for me too, I had Home Alone 2 recorded off the TV on VHS as a kid.
TRHPS, but when I was younger he was the absolutely incredible Lord of Darkness in Legend. Also, Meg Mucklebones (swamp creature) was Robert Picardo, another fantastic job. The baddies in Legend were the best part of it.
Tim Curry was my first crush when I saw him playing a pirate in Muppet Treasure Island
I know him as Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island… What age does that make me?
My favorite movie.
I say it’s the best Muppet movie, and there’s some stiff competition!
Tim Curry and Alan Rickman never starred in the same film together, TIL
Vladikov from McHales Navy
He was also in a great episode of Poirot
Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster on CD-ROM
Yeah… same.
Only know him of C&C and the awesome movie Congo (including the awesome PC game)He was the oh so smarmily, charmingly, evil Cardinal Richelieu in the Three Musketeers for me.
He was having too much fun in that role.
I think this and The Hunt for Red October are my earliest memories of him. Muppet Treasure Island is probably my favorite though.
For me, it was Hexxus in “Ferngully, the last Rainforest”.
Both him and Robin Williams gave amazing performances for an animated movie for kids.
To this day, whenever I stumble or trip and fall, I still catch myself saying “Gravity works”, or when I touch something disgusting, I’ll end up singing “Slime beneath me, ooh, slime up above!”
Toxic Love plays randomly in my head to this day. Right now it’s that and Jolene going back and forth which is an interesting contrast.
What. Happened. To. The. ENER-GY!?
It is such a quotable movie.
“I’m going to the one place that hasn’t been corrupted by capitalism! SPACE!”
I just love when actors are clearly having a great time in their role. It makes me happy. RIP Tim Curry, truly we lost a good one.
