I have seen some people making the argument that trans rights should be abandoned for electability so it’s an idea that’s out there but not a mainstream idea among liberals I don’t think.
Some anarchists have advocated for participation in electoralism. So even though we’ve rarely if ever seen this, I’m not sure I agree it would be totally oxymoronic. Praxis requires reckoning with the existing conditions. And existing conditions are that most changes in society are executed by politicians.
