To be honest our apartment building doesn’t look like it would be great from the outside, and is in a not so great area, but there’s a wooded forest and river behind us, and we have an outdoor covered balcony looking into it. My older brother got me a bird feeder for it and it sparks so much joy to see them use it.

Then my spouse got me a book on birdwatching, and I got a second suet feeder with a ledge hanging from it so larger birds could feed— ye gods the woodpeckers get huge!

And then I got a hummingbird feeder and those little guys are so goddamn precious (but you have to wash the feeders once a week, which is a bit of a chore).

And then my strictly indoor cats have cat tv all day right outside with all manners of birds coming and going ❤️

I’ll hang out there to do my puzzles or read and try to be still whenever I hear them nearby— which is a lot. Such a soothing experience.

I’d be fine if we never moved again.

I hate it when this happens because then it opens up in your mind that there’s always a possibility everyone else is wrong and it’s actually good, just give it a chance.

…I liked 2011’s The Thing. It wasn’t flawless, but it was pretty good imo. Now I suffer through other movies everyone else said was bad… and they are indeed bad. Date Night? Jurassic World? Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City? All those moments, lost, like shitty movies in the rain.
