Yeah you can tell this is not real because a) it’s greentext and b) you can’t copyright game mechanics.
If you could we wouldn’t have video game genres, or like 99% of board games.
Gentle nerd freak of the pacific northwest. All nation states are vermin.

Taiwan’s aboriginal people are the homeland of the vast Austronesian language family - 5th largest by speaker count and much higher by languages count - and thus the origin point of the incredible Polynesian Expansion. Seafarers probably from SE Taiwan expanded out to Luzon, where expansion slowed for a while. A distinct material culture that archaeologists call Lapita developed and these people and their descendants expanded across the vastness of the pacific.
Every single Austronesian language outside Taiwan is part of one branch - on Taiwan there are like 8 seperate branches.
The facial tattooing that Polynesia is known for has origins on Taiwan, where facial tattoos are especially common among women.
They were probably related somehow to the vast cultural sphere that later Chinese sources called the baiyue, the hundred southern barbarians, a diverse range of very different peoples who were often tattooed and may also have included the ancestors of speakers of like 3 other seperate language families (Austroasiatic, Kra-Dai, Hmong-Mien).
“You can fire like most of your expensive staff who have real leverage and only be noticably worse”
LLMs are another (large) step in the broad trend of concentrating more power in fewer hands that has been going on since late mesolithic food storage tech.
Most things that we’ve lionized as technological breakthroughs since the end of the ice age ~20kya have been power-concentration tools.
Yeah i figured that was the idea.
I think it hits my ear badly in part because i’m used to using person-first language where you tend towards adjectives instead of nouns to avoid the implication of reducing the whole of a person to a single trait. It’s a bit bs pc language games, but i have felt it makes a difference when used towards me.
Also i think the situation in Palestine is just not quite the same as colonialism in say australia or north america. Zionism is obviously settler colonialism, but the Jewish diaspora is itself the product of Roman colonialism 2000 years ago and Jewish people never completely left. Eastern Inuit and Yupik groups are considered native peoples and have only been there ~1000 years. Plus both Palestinian and Jewish people share a common Canaanite heritage, before the processes of diaspora and Arabization. Saying Palestinians are native implies at least a little that people with Jewish heritage are too.
Again, Zionism is obviously settler colonialism and should be opposed. I just don’t think you can easily compare that situation to the native/colonizer relationship elsewhere.
I wish it just said Palestinian. ‘is a native’ sounds awkward and demeaning to me.
All nation-states are vermin.
Lol sure 😂😂😂 and bean farts have nothing do with beans.
Exactly. As if a poison that last longer than humans can plan for - or even realistically imagine - could ever be a solved problem.
W was the dry run for what’s going on now. Proof of concept.
The rampant open corruption, the way the coalition provisional authority was run outside any legal framework, largely in secret, then dissolved after everyone got themselves paid, the use of a mentally deficient patsy to distract attention, the bald-face lying without even the pretext of fact, openly torturing non-whites, legislating to invade the hague if we’re charged for any of our war crimes, putting obviously unqualified regime partisans on the court, etc.
People when they hear nuclear industry propaganda.
People when they hear fossil fuel industry propaganda.
It can be very hard to tell gender from bones archaeologically, even gender assigned at birth.
Specialists use the terms “gracile” vs “robust” because that’s what they’re actually seeing, not female vs male.
There have been some famous mis-identifications like the triple burial at dolni vestonice that was thought to be a husband and wife, maybe with a shaman who failed to save a baby, since the third person’s hand was in the woman’s crotch. Then ancient genetics confirmed they all had Y-chromosome. Oops!
Yikes and yikes!
I work in mental health and my former boss who’s supposed to understand these things seriously said “you should just use a calendar”. She also told a staff member with anxiety that he just needed breathing excersizes 🤷
Because both the english and korean terms for the dessert are loan words from the same italian word.
Also scientific terms like tyrannasaur are almost always stay the same across cultures and languages.

That meeting had to be like the Poochie meeting from The Simpsons.
“It has to be edgy, in your face, a totally outrageous paradigm. Like the original iphone, but more proactive.” [Boss leaves] “So, a phone okay with everybody?”
Social status seeking is a behaviour we share with chimps, so it probably dates back to at least our last shared ancestor, ~6-7 Mya. It’s observed in most social mammals, so maybe as far back as the rise of mammals like 66 Mya.
Maybe we move in different circles but i don’t see leftists posting about how they refuse to fight fascism with anyone unless they voted for nader in 2000 or some such.
I see liberals and rich democrats still blaming everyone but kamala and the dnc for losing. I see a democratic party elite that still thinks they don’t need policies that americans want.
“A productive conversation about the next cycle” begins with listening to americans, not listing the allies you refuse to listen to.
Creating rifts with leftists and focusing on the pressing issues of 2024 instead for swallowing your pride and working towards a common cause with opponents of the US regime is definitely a good plan.
People are often down on the value of elephants on the battlefield but they have so many uses beyond a risky charge.
Just having a mobile viewing platform was useful. They could functional a bit like mobile artillery as well. Hellenistic armies were sophisicated combined-arms affairs, so i think we have to presume they gave militaries options they wanted.
People also forget how incredible elephahts are for logistics & engineering - huge in helenistic warfare. Elephants move trees like nothing else could. Imagine today if only one side in a war had industrial earthmoving equipment.
Aha! I did really like hagar the horrible comics as a kid, but it’s a nonsense snippet of ancient greek: 'η γαρ (hē gar) that just means “for/because the…”
