62·6 days agofor decades it was all “go to uni”, now what ? we have way too few people needed to actually keep a country running and medical staff are forever in shortage and we just steal doctors and nurse’s etc from overseas. How is it places like Cuba have so many doctors they export them , even Italy has Cuban doctors (fuck the US for clamping down on that as well).
Your argument would carry sone gravitas if the US wasn’t doing the same thing subsidizing the US automobile industry, except in that case the industry became bloated, complacent and uncompetitive and needed even farther protection with moah tariffs
where as while the Chinese government subsidized for sure, they ended up building a cutting edge super competitive industry building vehicles the world wants.
The Ford, Toyota and Honda CEO have said the main reason is build quality, value, automaton and robotics, they can design and build a car in months and have hardly a person on the assembly line.

3·8 days agodidn’t i read they were stopping exports on some fuels as they were struggling with domestic supply and supporting their invasion efforts while some of their refineries were suffering involuntary pyrotechnical outages ?
i never understood why my Government in Australia doesn’t have a tech division a Linux version to use, Libre Office software etc a messenger service, an email and a Mastodon instance. Doesn’t mean you have to use them by the Governments should and be available to all including our Oceania brothers if they wish including funding them.
Giving up digital sovereignty is beyond my understanding, let alone hosting Government. and financial services on foreign owned cloud services.
