My over the top positive lil guy was a halfling bard who was a baker. All his instruments were pots and pans he would bang on. His vicious mockery was telling you ways that you let down people in your life and genuinely wanting to help you do better. His bags were full of homebrewed muffins that were infused with calm emotions which he would use to pacify and bribe NPCs. Whimble Buttercrust became the de facto party leader and turned our resident murder hobo into a struggling pacifist who would snap if anyone put Whimble in danger.

The other halfling in our party was a horny rogue, so I played Whimble asexual. The DM was also horny so they found it amusing to watch Whimble struggling to graciously excuse himself while remaining oblivious (until it was no longer possible and then becoming flustered).

It’s possible I’ve just never had the right amount. I always either can’t taste the truffle, or taste nothing but truffle for several hours. The latter leaves me to believe I don’t like it because it’s so intense and overpowers every other flavor in the food.

It’s so overpowering and stinky, I don’t understand why people want to pile it up on things or distill it to a liquid to turn the flavor of whatever you’re eating into gym socks.

Love this one. Ended up watching it because all the hotel scenes were filmed at an iconic hotel in my hometown. The hotel was built in 1888 and last year finished a half billion dollar renovation that attempts to update the comfort but not the style:

Get some classic movies in. Just because they’re black & white doesn’t mean they’re outdated.

Casablanca. I didn’t watch it till I was much older and was impressed with how well it stands up. Genuinely gave me an appreciation for older movies. It’s so well written and edited. Every scene moves plot.

The Apartment. It’s from 1960 (near the start of the sexual revolution) and is a comedy about a dude who loans out his apartment as a fuck pad to execs at his office in order to get ahead at work. Real “the more things change, the more they stay the same” energy. It’s funny and captures the era in a light I had never seen before.

Genuinely thought it was an older spelling of “feign,” but have learned that they are homophones that have opposite meanings. Like a contronym, but phonetically… a controphone.

The timing of “two… PLUS ANOTHER NINE WITH A ZERO AFTER IT” is something I’ll never experience in my native tongue.

I mean, the light indicated when turbo was engaged and you would disengage it to slow it down. Maybe you had hooked up your jumpers backwards?
