I’m like that. I know gossip is wrong but dammit it’s delicious! I do stay away from it and only repeat it when there’s risk to people and I’m warning them. But ngl… I love hearing it.

Hate it, don’t listen to it. Don’t make myself a harbor for it.

Gossip tells me nothing except all I need to know about the gossiper and the level of trust they’ll receive from me moving forward.

It’s just information. It might not be true, it might tell you more about the sharer than the subject, but still information.

I hate it. Gossip did so much damage to my life when I was a kid, I refuse to participate.

Gossip is like conversation. It can be used to mislead and hurt or it can be used to share valuable information. Gossiping is a perfectly fine activity as long as you apply the same standards as in other conversations about honesty, kindness, etc.

Lots of people should be gossiped about. People that violate boundaries, people that try to mislead, people with toxic relationship traits that they try to hide early on in the dating process, people stuck in toxic relationships without knowing it, people that need help from their community but who are too afraid to ask, etc.
