Remember, people are only a psyop if they disagree with you

Entities with power would never try to capture the discourse and sentiment of groups you affiliate and agree with by validating your own worst, most destructive takes 😌

Alright folks, it’s hot takes time

AI companies claiming their LLMs are self-aware is a psyop. It’s reverse psychology. They want AI haters to say the opposite; that LLMs are not self aware, are not alive, and do not have feelings. Because if AI haters claimed that LLMs might have feelings, then we could argue for a pause in commercial exploitation of the technology until it’s fully understood.

By claiming that LLMs are p-zombies, the mainstream left is falling for a psyop.

Don’t think that would work. Just look at how seriously commerical exploitation of animals is taken. 🥲

If mankind were to create a species of non-hominid sentient creatures that want and freely choose to live in bondage and servitude…what would be the ethical choice? Destroy it? Ignore it? Enslave it?

Suppose it were unintentional. Like some comedy movie, everything goes wrong with a crispr accident and suddenly we have a race of talking horses that tell us they want to be beasts of burden or something.

I don’t think ChatGPT is smart enough to give informed consent to work with humans. In your example, I would want to give them a full psychological assessment to understand why they are the way they are, and what the long term health effects of working for humans would be.
