History has many examples of men who fell to their deaths believing God would stop the fall. One of them was actually a guy who claimed to be the second coming of Jesus. Claimed he’d miraculously fly on a donkey. Fell right off the cliff and debunked his whole religion he did.
I remember when New Age sold me on Idealism.
