  • Until 10 years later when the nazis have taken over, and send homosexuals to death/labor camps. I remember when I was a kid reading about this stuff, and being terrified of the concept. If it had been fiction, I wouldn’t have been so scared of that idea. It was the fact that I was reading a history book that made this terrifying. I remember being 10, and thinking “Well, I’m glad that’s over, and I never had to live through a government that kidnaps people off the street for being an out group, just to send them to a camp. At least that’s all behind us!”

Welp. It’s 2026. Sorry Papa. You fought in WWII to fight German nazis, and won. Unfortunately the united states today has said “Hey, what if WE did that???”

So now, even though we were on the right side of history when it counted, we’ve now decided to voluntarily BE the wrong side of history. If my grandfather were still alive, I’m sure he’d question why he stormed a beach with water so filled with blood it turned the ocean red. Just to have it turn out this way.

I’m sure Marlene Dietrich would just say “Some things never change”.

  • I’m already seeing on bluesky, in the discover tab, politicians saying how they voted to approve this bill.

    Then bragging about it.

Which, maybe it’s just me, but it comes off kinda weird. Imagine if I tweeted “I did the thing at work I’m expected to do! And for once I didn’t get bullied out of my position! Yeah! Go me!”

I’m all for sending Ukraine all the help they want. I just find it weird seeing politicians bragging about it hours after the innitial vote before we can see any actual results. Because you’re a fool if you think trump won’t be finding ways to make this vote mean nothing.
