i will wait for you by connie francis. the way it was used in futurama changed what it means to me forever, so now its more of a pure platonic love song to me. the resolution of the wait was what i felt when i finally got my cats, and when i finally started to see a girl in the mirror, so the song kind of captures the feeling of the wait. kind of a sad love song all things considered but it means a lot to me.
Oh that’s an excellent choice! Futurama is my comfort show, I could rewatch it forever.

It’s not quite a love song in the traditional sense, it’s more about a lover’s quarrel, but you can hear the yearning he has for his love in the lyrics. You can hear the remorse for their problems in the line “Can’t deny our devotion”.
I’d put it more in the category of a sad love song. But I also just saw them perform it live on Saturday and it’s been stuck in my head for months 😬
It also reminds me of being so far away from my loved ones and how much I miss them.

It’s so tough to be away from family and loved ones. My partner’s mom still lives in his home country and it’s very bittersweet sometimes.
Oh man, it was phenomenal! It was The Chats, Descendents, and Social Distortion. It was the first time seeing Descendents and my 3rd Social D show, last one was 20 years ago. It was epic and it renewed/amplified my crush on Mike Ness lol That man ages like fine fucking wine! And his style is just 🤤

Glitter in the Air by Pink, a rare woman-sung love song in my vocal range, and La Vie en Rose. I played a slightly jazzy rendition of La Vie en Rose on soprano sax once for my wife on soprano sax, and that was really fun.
