I mean yeah, we do have iron in that fire.

Europe could never be a neutral mediator between Russia and Ukraine, she added, since the bloc stood by Ukraine’s side and was also defending its own security interests.

I can only assume this is terrible clickbait because what average person would know who „EU‘s Kallas“ is? I swear „<thing>‘s <name>“ is the new „SLAMS“ of headlines. It‘s the EU‘s foreign policy chief by they way. They say so in the first sentence.

A headline on European foreign policy assumes you have basic knowledge on that topic. If you have never heard of Kallas you don’t know one of the top figures of the EU and the one in charge of the EU’s foreign policy. Many don’t, but they are equally clueless. For those readers it is explained in the article. Do we also have to explain who VdL is in a headline?

Kallas’s comments come against the backdrop of a debate over whether the EU should play a greater role in diplomatic efforts to end the Ukraine war, given the lack of progress so far in US President Donald Trump’s peace initiative.

“We are not coming in instead of the United States,” she said.

      So, zilch?
