Shouldn’t she be saying yes, and then it shows him flip it down? Maybe I’m confused, I haven’t played that game in several decades

He’s trying to guess what she’s thinking about. She says it’s not necessary. He flips down “food”. This reveals nothing about her attitude towards food, only about his.

The array of flippable pictures is specific to each player and tracks their knowledge of what has been ruled out.

It tripped me up at first, too, but @[email protected] is correct. Here’s the breakdown:

        Stalin: Is it necessary?
        Girl: No.
Stalin must now remove things from the board that are necessary in his opinion.
Stalin: *removes food* (which implies it’s necessary)

If the girl said “Yes”, then Stalin would have to remove the things from the board that aren’t necessary in his opinion, for instance, food.

If the joke is meant to be that Stalin does not think food is necessary, then he would not flip down food when the girl says no

Do you really see no connection between a country declaring food to not be necessary and a dictator asking if food is necessary?

        Seriously?

You can’t differentiate between man-made famine that killed millions directly instigated by megalomaniacal dictator and political position? Truly, they are essentially the same thing.

      Blah. I hate this meme.
My bad I repost from reddit and this posted automatically. Absolute only one country always blocking food as the human right vote is US

My mom In law was growing up in a broken home (Connecticut) frequently without food.

Better then declaring it a human right and then send an army multiple times to your house to search everywhere and make sure you don’t have any food left anywhere at all.

It’s not a competition. Both things suck and things can be equally bad in different ways.

Except they are not equally bad. You are comparing lack of social programmes to genocide. No, they are not the same.
